Portugal was sick. Waves were mental for the comp. Was so good getting barrelled and watching everyone else get shacked too. Had a dream run in the event but got beat by TB in the Quarters by less than a point. See video highlights in the Live Control section of the Rip Curl Pro site.

Had a wild heat today against Kai Otton. One that I'll never forget. Otto went mad early posting a really high score. I tried to stay calm because I knew there were plenty of fun waves out there. Managed to get back in the heat and take the win. I finished with a total of 19.13 and Otto was 18.40. One of the highest scoring heats I've been part of. Got a win against Miguel and Melling in Round One. Tough draw… psyched to get through. Loving these beachies at Supertubos! Today was so fun but tomorrow is going to be pumping they say. They say bigger and cleaner. I hope they are right. Who are they? See footage of the round one heat here.

Couldn't stop little Gab in the final today. Congrats to him. Amazing surfer. Felt like we put on an okay show for the crowd… see the final in the heat review here. Obviously it stings a little coming up short but I'm stoked to be be gathering momentum and to have achieved my best result here in France.
